Villagers are Healthier After Learning Proper Hygiene

Preventing illness through proper hygiene and clean water saves money from being spent on doctor visits, medication, transportation, and avoids loss of work days.

Dhedauli Village had poor sanitation, dirty surroundings, and unsafe drinking water. Many people, including Shanta*, often got sick due to lack of awareness about hygiene and clean drinking water.

The Transformational Community Development (TCD) trainers organized a Health and Sanitation Awareness Program to teach people about clean water, handwashing, proper toilet use, and environmental cleanliness. They also encouraged the whole community to participate.

After the program, Shanta started practicing cleanliness at home and motivated others in the village. She became more responsible and aware. With the help of TCD, her family’s health improved, and the village became cleaner and safer. Shanta is happy because the program brought positive change to her life and the whole community.

*For the purpose of safety and wellbeing, “Shanta” is a pseudonym for the individual being helped by this project.
