Marwa is an 11-year-old Nubian girl with a strong personality and a natural ability to influence those around her. However, she often used that influence in the wrong way. Instead of encouraging and supporting other girls, she frequently mocked them and used hurtful words. Marwa believed that intimidating others would make her appear stronger and more respected among her peers, never fully realizing the emotional pain her behavior caused.

Over time, many of the girls began avoiding her. They no longer wanted to sit with her, play with her, or include her in their activities. As a result, her relationships became marked by tension and fear rather than friendship and trust. Although she appeared confident on the outside, Marwa often felt lonely and disconnected. She did not understand that her own actions were pushing others away.

Everything began to change when Marwa joined the Transformational Community Development (TCD) children’s group. Through interactive activities, games, and lessons focused on respect, kindness, and accepting others, she started to see her behavior from a different perspective. One lesson, in particular, deeply impacted her. It explored the lasting effect that hurtful words can have on another person’s feelings and self-esteem. For the first time, Marwa realized that some of the girls had been carrying emotional pain because of the way she treated them.

Determined to change, Marwa began putting what she learned into practice. Instead of making fun of others, she started encouraging them. Instead of using hurtful nicknames, she chose words that uplifted and motivated her friends. She also showed great courage by apologizing to several girls whom she had hurt in the past. The transformation was not immediate, but it was genuine. As time passed, the other girls noticed the difference in her attitude and behavior. Slowly, trust was rebuilt, and new friendships began to grow.

Today, Marwa is one of the most cooperative and supportive girls in the group. She actively participates in activities, helps new children feel welcome, and encourages others to treat one another with respect and kindness. Reflecting on her journey, Marwa says she has learned that true strength is not found in putting others down, but in helping them feel valued, accepted, and loved.

Marwa’s story demonstrates the powerful impact that positive guidance and values-based education can have on a child’s life. What began as the story of a young girl who bullied others has become a story of transformation, leadership, and compassion. Today, Marwa is a source of encouragement, friendship, and peace within her group and community, proving that every child has the potential to change and become a positive influence on others.
