This spring, Transformational Community Development (TCD) committees in Yelivo mobilized community volunteers to carry out a sanitation exercise around the main community well, which serves several families. The initiative focused on clearing waste and debris from the well area to reduce the risk of water contamination and prevent the spread of waterborne diseases. This collective action strengthened community ownership of local health and hygiene while improving access to safer water for households that rely on the well daily.
Following the well sanitation, the committees extended their efforts to support Mr. Tchaboura, an elderly community member, by cleaning the surroundings of his home. The activity aimed to improve his immediate living environment and reinforce the spirit of solidarity and care within the community. These actions reflect the committees’ commitment to promoting both public health and social cohesion in Yelivo.
Thank you!
