A visit to Batemone wrapped up the current Transformational Community Development (TCD) program phase, focusing on sustainability and community care. Discussions centered on how the community can thrive post-TCD, with committees seeking support for small loans of 50,000 – 100,000 CFA ($90-$180) to bolster local initiatives.

At the start of TCD, the government contributed a school, toilets, and a canteen for vulnerable students, and Batemone is looking to build on that momentum. Going forward, the committee will be exploring ways to empower the community to drive their own development.
