GHNI’s Bany Mazar Empowerment Center now serves 350 women and children—offering business, health, and vocational training alongside moral and literacy programs—to meet urgent needs and foster lasting community leadership.

Bany Mazar, a deeply impoverished neighborhood in Al Menya, Upper Egypt, faces severe challenges including high unemployment, poor education, and widespread childhood anemia. Families struggle to survive on an average monthly income of just $100, leaving women and children especially vulnerable. In response, GHNI’s Bany Mazar Empowerment Center has become a vital lifeline for 350 women and children, offering essential programs that equip women with small business, parenting, health, and hygiene skills—empowering them to provide for their families. Children benefit from moral education that fosters love and respect, helping to restore peace within homes. Through weekly classes, literacy initiatives, and vocational training in sewing, cooking, and hairdressing, GHNI not only meets immediate needs but also builds long-term sustainability by training community members to lead the work themselves.
