What started with a simple ball of yarn has woven together an entire community of transformation. In a culture where women rarely leave their homes, a knitting project has become a lifeline of hope, dignity, and newfound independence for Roma women who had never before earned their own income.
These talented artisans, who learned knitting at their mothers’ knees, are now turning their traditional skills into financial freedom. But the real magic happens during their bi-weekly gatherings, where needles click and lives change. Here, women who once rarely left their homes find friendship, support, and vital knowledge about health, education, and community development.
The ripple effects touch every generation. As mothers gain confidence and income, their children see new possibilities for their own futures. What began as a simple knitting circle has grown into a comprehensive program supporting school children and vulnerable youth throughout the community.
Your gift can help expand this transformative program, empowering more women to knit their way to independence while strengthening entire families. When you support these determined artisans, you’re not just helping them earn an income – you’re helping them weave a new future for their community.
Will you help more Roma women transform their traditional skills into tools for lasting change?
Michael, a dedicated pastor and fitness enthusiast, is taking on the challenge of Mt. Kilimanjaro to support Global Hope Network International’s sustainable development work. Though he has some hiking experience in Arizona, this will be his toughest trek yet. Passionate about stewardship in clean water, education, and prevention, he is excited to hike alongside family and push his limits. A natural encourager and servant leader, Michael thrives in teamwork, building deep relationships, and supporting others. For him, this journey is about more than the summit—it’s about shared growth and transformation.
