In a small village, there was a woman named Layla who loved sewing more than anything, but Layla was born with a disability, which made it hard for her to sew as easily as she wanted. She also couldn’t leave her home often because she had to take care of her elderly parents. Despite her talent and passion, Layla couldn’t share her sewing skills with others.
One day, we heard Layla’s story and decided to help. We offered her a chance to teach sewing at the House of David in Ajloon, a place not too far from her home. Layla was overjoyed at the offer. She was excited to finally be able to teach and share her love of sewing with others while still being close to her family.
Now, Layla teaches a sewing class for five women at the House of David through a partnership with Transformational Community Development (TCD). Her students admire her skill and determination. Layla is happy and fulfilled, knowing she can pursue her passion while making a difference in her community.
Thank you!
