In a beautiful example of transformational teamwork, Effaoho Village’s “company” harvests each farm, together.
Excitement fills the air in Effaoho as the much anticipated harvest season kicks off. Months of relentless hard work, from planting to pruning, have finally paid off, resulting in abundant harvests for many local farmers. The energy is contagious as the community celebrates the fruit of their labor!
Effaoho locals adopted a powerful strategy of teamwork and support! They come together to tackle one farm at a time, finishing the work before moving on to the next. They call this dynamic collaboration a “company,” and it’s transforming the way they harvest, an idea and strategy that was inspired through Transformational Community Development (TCD) engagements. This has strengthened the spirit of unity and togetherness in Effaoho as the community comes together to celebrate the fruits of their collective efforts. The bonds of cooperation are growing even stronger during this rewarding harvest season.
Romeo, a well-known village champion, has already harvested an impressive 22 bags, each weighing 120 kg, from just one of his three rice fields. He also testified that his cocoa farm is doing great, with each tree producing more fruits.
The plan for the coming months is to actively engage the locals through TCD initiatives, focusing on improving harvest preservation. By introducing better storage methods, the goal is to prevent spoilage and waste, allowing farmers to maximize their profits from the sale of their produce. This effort aims to ensure that the hard-earned harvests yield greater financial benefits for the community. The community is also exploring means to provide grating machines for Attieke producers and sellers in order to improve their production process and consequently increase their profit.
TCD© is GHNI’s coaching-based process for helping villages transform themselves and break the cycle of extreme poverty.
There’s been increased yield this season.
Strategies are being developed to improve profit for Attieke producers and sellers.
Thank you!
