A Simple Expression of Gratitude

Teachers are opening their hearts as simple expressions of gratitude and care show they are appreciated.

The affairs in the first village were successfully completed. The village elders took the initiative and helped build a dam and a ditch.

This year, Transformational Community Development (TCD) has started fruitfully. I visited teachers at school, and we talked about life, work, problems, and how to solve them. We also shared dreams and desires and how they can be achieved. At the beginning of January, as a parent, I brought a cake for the teachers for lunch. Simple gratitude for their work, along with tea and a piece of cake, warmed their hearts. They work in cold classrooms, shivering in jackets. Many are sick yet still come to teach our children.

Work with the community in other villages is also fruitful. I was able to meet the headman of each village, travel with them to nine villages, and meet the communities. I hope that we will be able to work together. The project that we are doing with them will cost approximately 3,000,000 som ($35,000), and we are excited to share more about it in our next update.

Thank you!
