Young people often do not realize the importance of being educated to improve their lives so their elders found a way to encourage this.
In the final quarter of 2024, I have done many Transformational Community Development (TCD) teachings and awareness activities in my village. Since we gave the Training of TCD 1 (TOTCD 1) training in the 3rd quarter involving 30 people, committees were formed in 5 expansion villages this 4th quarter.
TCD expansion villages are as follows: Razapur, Shibnagar, Sharha, Ulatgaon, and Horipur. All the villages are in the Dinajpur District. We plan to provide TOTCD 1 training in five villages within the first quarter of 2025.
TCD© is GHNI’s coaching-based process for helping villages transform themselves and break the cycle of extreme poverty.
Dadpur Village students were not attentive in their studies. Young people spend their time in unnecessary chatter, always spending their valuable time in mobile games and are not interested in going to school or college. The TCD Education committee realized that if students spend their time in this way, nothing good will happen in the lives of our children. Therefore, they decided to organize an encouragement meeting with their high school and college age students. They successfully implemented the meeting with their students and realized that the meeting was very meaningful. Through this meeting, they can keep their students on the right track. Now they have decided to organize this meeting regularly.
Dulu lives in Dadpur Village, Bangladesh. Six months ago, Dulu didn’t know about TCD. She took the TCD training and told us about her life. Her husband died a few years ago. She has a daughter who got married, but her husband also died. She also has a daughter. So, there are three people in her family. They were living with some problems. Earlier they had a raw toilet and since the toilet was not good, there was a lot of bad smell coming out of the toilet and they suffered more during rainy days. The base of the tube well was also raw and dirty water always accumulated at the base. She could not fix either of these two. But after the TCD program came to her village, she got an improved toilet and tubewell through the TCD program. The base of the tube-well is also paved. Now even during the rainy season, they do not have any problem and there is no bad smell, and they can drink pure water. She is happy to have the help of TCD and she thanks TCD a lot for helping her. We are thankful that our village got the opportunities to become self-sustainable and grow.
Thank you!
