The Mawa Transformational Community Development (TCD) program suffered a big blow this month. Ever since the Mawa community began learning TCD principles around 5 years ago, Papa Hasan* had been the steady and reliable head of the village TCD committee, leading his neighbors in transforming their community through successful Water and Income Generation projects. He worked consistently to make Mawa a better place. Papa Hasan was also making plans with the GHNI training team to reach out to neighboring villages with TCD training in the next year, so that others too could experience the Hope of lifting themselves out of poverty.

Papa Hasan passed away suddenly this month, leaving the Mawa community and the GHNI training team grieving and processing what the future of Mawa will be like without him. Please keep the people of Mawa in your thoughts as they look for new leaders to emerge and carry the torch toward a better future for their children and for surrounding communities.
