Empowering Generations
Through the many opportunities for grownups and children alike, the Women’s Empowerment Center is drastically changing lives for the better.
My name is Sofia. I have one son and one daughter. When my adopted son was just 15 days old, his mother passed away, and I took him in to raise him. Now, he is three years old. In my home country, I was able to amass considerable wealth, but due to the war, I brought my two children and came to Ethiopia. Losing my mother at a young age, I had no friends or relatives to guide me, so I did not receive any formal education. However, after completing Transformational Community Development (TCD) training, I will be engaged in knitting and sewing. My aspiration is to increase my income and achieve greater success.
The benefits of the Women’s Empowerment Center extend beyond me; my daughter is also thriving. She is enthusiastic about learning computer skills, which she previously did not have access to. Volunteers assist her with challenging subjects and study skills, improving her approach to learning. She eagerly anticipates her days at the center.
Thank you!
