Relief for the Relocated
Having food and a way to earn income is a sweet relief for those relocated due to border conflicts.
Every two to three years, armed conflicts erupt along our country’s southern borders, compelling residents to relocate to other cities within the nation. Entire villages migrate to safer areas, forcing people to start anew in places where they are neither expected nor always welcomed.
In one such village, my partners and I distributed a new batch of 5,000 laying hens, providing 167 families with 30 chickens each. This substantial support aids the displaced families and offers the local community an opportunity to connect with the newcomers. Transformational Community Development (TCD) members have volunteered to continue working with the local residents, aiming to build relationships over the next two years. Why two years? Because the productive lifespan of laying hens is typically around two years.
Thank you!
