Herbaceously Helpful
Locally grown herbs and plants offer a less expensive way to treat some health concerns.
Treating health challenges in Bomborma is expensive and stressful. During the last Transformational Community Development (TCD) training of trainers (TCDToT), champions were trained in new agriculture practices (including medicinal properties and applications.) It was this training that inspired the TCD champion, Nicholas, to recommend Vernonia Amygdalina (bitter leaf), Moringa, and lemon, boiled together, as a treatment for diabetes and high blood pressure.
Juanah, a member of the community who has been suffering from both, found Nicholas’s suggestions to be helpful. The TCD training on taking advantage of locally sourced herbs and vegetables has helped stabilize Juanah’s condition and reduced both his sugar level and blood pressure. This is a testament to TCD’s drive to promote wellness and health.
Thank you!
