Healthy Lifestyle Changes
Health education and simple lifestyle changes empower women to take control of their well-being.
This month, through the Transformational Community Development (TCD) program, we were able to follow up on the blood sugar measurement of 80 women. We also taught them about the dangers and causes of high blood sugar and taught them how to improve it. Among these women was a woman named Umm Kamel whose blood sugar reached 200, and she did not take medication for it. We went to her house to help her organize her food and drink. She also started walking every day for half an hour to an hour. Finally, Umm Kamel was able to lower her blood sugar so that she did not need to take medication. She became an example to the other women in the center who started doing the same.
Thank you,
