Widad is a young woman with a disability who was determined to make a difference in her community. She worked tirelessly to establish a center dedicated to supporting people with disabilities—women, men, and children—so they could feel valued, included, and cared for. Her vision was to create a safe and empowering space where individuals could access services and opportunities that improve their quality of life.
She reached out to partner with our Transformational Community Development (TCD) workers, and together they began serving this community by distributing wheelchairs and launching four new classes: English, computer skills, hairdressing, and sewing for women and children with disabilities. This collaboration has been deeply encouraging, as it not only meets immediate needs but also opens doors for long-term growth. It has inspired us to expand our work, enabling us to support people with disabilities in more diverse and impactful ways beyond providing wheelchairs.
Thank you!
