In Kouvome, the gap between the rich and poor has continued to close as the community puts into practice principles taught by Transformational Community Development (TCD). This month, more underprivileged school-aged children received free school uniforms provided by the Education Committee with support from the locals. These underprivileged children were often despised and ridiculed by their peers, even staying away from school due to the economic disparity making them feel different and excluded. Now, they get to tell a new story. Four girls received fabrics to make brand new uniforms. One of the girls couldn’t contain her joy and blurted out, “I am now a student!” This new sense of belonging engendered by collaboration and unity is remarkable, all thanks to TCD!
Thank you!
