Positive Changes Attract the Interest of Other Villages
Knowledge transfer rather than donated aid results in long term sustainability.
Before joining the Transformational Community Development (TCD) training, Sangita* had many problems with her family. They lived in a poor hut. When it rained, there would be leaks, and when the wind blew, the hut would blow away many times. There was also a big problem with water. Sangita said, “After TCD classes started in my village, many things have changed, and services have been provided. I have gained knowledge and education from TCD. I have made the hut a little better. Now I can sleep peacefully at night, and I have learned many new things. Now I have received a hand pump from another organization through the initiative of TCD, and my water problem has been solved. Seeing these improvements, other communities have been very impressed and curious to learn about TCD. It is a great blessing and happiness in my life and family.”
Other important activities have been carried out by the TCD trainers, like public awareness on health and hygiene, safe drinking water, health checkups, and eating a safe and balanced diet, and every family needs to be involved in Income Generation. Our TCD committee has played a great role for these activities.
*For the purpose of safety and wellbeing, “Sangita” is a pseudonym for the individual being helped by this project.
Thank you!
