Positive Gatekeeping

Diverting a river’s flow is this community’s next step toward self-sustainability.

Near the community is a river called Big White River, which flows from the mountains and passes close to the village. Locals who partnered with us for Transformational Community Development (TCD) started to build an irrigation gate that needs to be installed in the field to catch the river’s flow. Community members were able to source an excavator, and I helped with fuel. This ditch is a blessing because without it, the fields would be left without water.
