Clean Water, New Life
Access to clean water brings health, relief, and dignity.
Om Shenouda, 50 years old, had suffered for many years from the problem of poor water in her home. The available water was very salty, of low quality, and unsuitable for drinking, which caused her and her family health problems and daily hardships. She used to fetch clean water from her neighbors or from the mosque across the street, a tiring task, especially as she grew older and had to carry heavy jerrycans every day. Her children were also under medical supervision, as their doctor constantly warned them about the dangers of contaminated water on the kidneys—particularly since her husband had lost one of his kidneys due to unsafe water.
Om Shenouda’s greatest wish was to have a permanent source of clean water in her home, without the struggle or fear of illness. This wish came true when she received a water filter through the Transformational Community Development (TCD) program. After installing and using it, she felt immense joy and relief, as the water became clear and safe to drink. Today, she and her children drink clean water without effort or hardship, and she feels great comfort and gratitude for this blessing that has improved her life and the life of her family.
Thank you,
