This month, the Kassena Point community did something quite remarkable. Rather than holding two separate meetings, the Wellness Committee and the Food Committee pulled their chairs together for one shared conversation, a meeting that proved two pressing concerns are better faced side by side.
The Transformational Community Development (TCD) champion opened the floor with something close to every parent’s heart, the health of their children during the rainy season. With the rains come risks, and the community listened carefully, taking in what it means to truly look after their little ones through these wet and unpredictable months. Then, as the health conversation settled, the room turned its attention to the land.
Together, the members looked ahead, discussing and agreeing on dates to begin clearing and preparing the fields for farming. There was a sense of purpose in the room, the kind that comes when a community plans not just for today but for the season ahead. Two agendas, one meeting, one community moving forward together.
Thank you!
