Free-Wheelin’ Three-Wheelers

Two young men took the initiative to start a transportation service, highlighting the value of community members investing in their own local small businesses.

This month, our discussions bore fruit when two of our villagers, Pradhan and Dinesh, took the initiative to buy three-wheel vehicles. These vehicles have quickly become a valuable resource in the village, providing transportation and helping people carry goods more efficiently. Seeing their success has inspired others in the village, and it has highlighted the benefits of investing in tools that can generate daily income. Both Pradhan and Dinesh are now able to earn up to 500 RS ($6.00) per day by offering transportation services to locals and nearby areas.

The impact of this change has been noticeable, and I feel hopeful seeing the progress among our villagers. The efforts of Pradhan and Dinesh have not only improved their own financial stability but have also brought new energy to the village. It is encouraging to witness such development in our community. We are confident and hopeful that more villagers will be inspired to pursue similar opportunities. This progress is a small but significant step toward a more prosperous future for our village.

The Transformational Community Development (TCD) committee of Baromasia Village spent a significant amount of time discussing potential income sources for our villagers. Unemployment is a major issue in Baromasia, and villagers often go to other cities for employment. This created many issues in the village, especially within families. Children were left unattended, and families were broken apart. Through TCD lessons, we had been trying to motivate people to start a business of their own in the village. During our discussion within the TCD committee, many agreed that creating small business opportunities could empower individuals and improve the village’s economy.
