In Shikarpur Village, many community members struggled with limited income opportunities. Despite having local resources, they lacked the knowledge and guidance to utilize these assets effectively for Income Generation. This resulted in financial instability and dependency on external sources for their livelihood. Since they live in the Tea Garden Cluster, they have to rely on only one source of income from working in the tea gardens with meager wages that are not sufficient.

To address these challenges, our Transformational Community Development (TCD) committee has started awareness classes, focusing on sustainable development and self-reliance. This month, the Shikarpur TCD committee members had a special discussion. They had an engaging session where they talked to the community about Income Generation, emphasizing how they could start small businesses such as goat raising, poultry farming, and pig farming, using local resources. The discussion was met with great enthusiasm. The committee members were inspired by the new ideas and possibilities. Motivated by the session, they are now planning to start a local chicken farm in their village. This initiative is a direct result of the TCD program’s influence in Shikarpur, empowering the community to recognize their potential, utilize their resources, and take steps toward financial independence.

The journey of Shikarpur’s TCD committee highlights how consistent training and community engagement can spark transformation, leading to sustainable development and a brighter future for the entire village.
