During the month of April, Yelivo’s Food Committee decided to establish a cassava field as a key initiative for promoting agricultural development within the village. This decision aims to enhance food security, generate income, and strengthen the sustainability of the Transformational Community Development (TCD) committee’s efforts. Our major objectives are to support local agricultural development, to contribute to the economic growth of the community, and to provide a sustainable source of food and income. In view of these objectives, a cassava field was designated, and initial preparations are underway.

The Water Committee held a meeting to assess the current state of the village’s water source, which is drawn from a well. During the meeting, concerns were raised about the quality of water being consumed directly from the well. The committee emphasized the importance of allowing water to settle for a few minutes after being drawn. This practice helps soil particles and potential microbes to settle at the bottom, reducing the risk of contamination when the water is poured or consumed.

Henceforth, community members will be taught and encouraged to let water sit before using it to allow impurities like sand or microbes to settle to improve water safety. Conclusively, the projects have created a sense of collective purpose and engagement among committee members and villagers.
