Hanaa is a young girl who is involved in our Transformational Community Development (TCD) Empowerment Center in Bani Mazar. She is extremely poor and lives with her sister and mother in a rented house with only one bathroom in the basement. They live on her late father’s meager pension. She and her family live a harsh life of poverty with no other source of income to improve their lives.

Many things frustrate Hanaa, but she defies her circumstances and doesn’t let them crush her. She learned success and perseverance in TCD classes. She started selling sweet treats to children on the street after school. She also excels at her schoolwork and studying. Recently, her family received a water filter in her home. This has brought happiness to her and her widowed mother. Hanaa is a very kind girl who loves others and doesn’t let her surroundings destroy her simple dreams or erase her beautiful smile.
