In the past, the people of Yelivo did not take health issues seriously, and little attention was given to maintaining a clean environment for good health. However, through the Transformational Community Development (TCD) program, positive change has begun. The chief, along with Chief EBO Aboubakar and the wider community, has embraced the call to improve their health practices and environment.
In October, with the support of the local champion, the community constructed two new latrines as part of their commitment to better hygiene. In November, they successfully roofed the structures, moving the project closer to completion. The next step is for the community to raise the necessary funds to finish the VIP latrines, add a third one, and ensure a sustainable, healthy environment for everyone. Efforts are ongoing to complete the project through continued mobilization and community support.
Thank you!
