In Dadpur, Bangladesh, GHNI and local leaders are helping 53 Santal families escape extreme poverty through education, clean water, and women-led farming that builds lasting self-sufficiency.

In Dadpur, a Santal village of 230 people in Bangladesh, GHNI partnered with local leaders to help 53 hardworking families break the cycle of extreme poverty and achieve a self-sufficient future. To do this, GHNI established Transformational Community Development (TCD) initiatives, launching a play school for early childhood education, implementing after-school coaching programs, and promoting essential health, hygiene, and sanitation practices.

Since starting the project, the village has achieved incredible milestones. The early-childhood play school operates regularly, significantly boosting attendance with the addition of sports equipment. The community has successfully addressed health and safety by testing their water supply and installing safe drinking water hand pumps. Most notably, Dadpur’s families are gaining financial independence. Empowered by TCD sessions on household finances, local women have leveraged seed money to start small-scale farming. Women like Munira, Upasana, and others have started raising goats and cows, translating agricultural resources into sustainable, steady incomes for their households.
