My name is Azmy, and I lead the adolescent development program in Shobra Al Kheima. I want to share my story about my son David. We used to have a wonderful time and frequently went out to dinner together, but in the past three years, the opportunity to meet together has decreased because of my many preoccupations. When David reached adolescence, he was characterized by stubbornness, rebellion, and some problems with his brothers at home, which affected our relationship.

After David joined our Transformational Community Development (TCD) program, he began to see himself in a different light and learned obedience, love, and peace. He learned to play the drums and made wonderful friends. Now, we meet often and go out and eat together. My relationship with my son has become excellent. He enjoys the program with his friends and will become a leader in the community. Through TCD, I reconnected with my son.

TCD for women has implemented a fish project for Mrs. Marian and her husband. They were poor because the husband could not find work. He had experience in the fish trade, so when Marian participated in the TCD program, the Income Generation Committee collected 3000 EGP ($60) and helped Marian and her husband buy fish and have a profitable project. They are now living on the income and paying off some debts. Their financial situation has improved, and their children can complete their education.
