A Good Problem

A bountiful harvest is an excellent problem to have!

A large pile of cassava spread on the floor for sorting. - A Good Problem

Since the introduction of Transformational Community Development (TCD) to Arigbokoto, the community has made significant progress in the yield of the local farms and the production of food. One group of women cleared a field to cultivate cassava. They amassed such a bountiful harvest that they are considering steps to process their yield into other materials such as garri (ground cassava flour) and tapioca (fermented cassava flakes), which would serve to preserve the produce and ensure the availability of food for a long time.

Thanks to the activities of the TCD committee on Income Generation, the community is able to take advantage of the donated soybean/corn processing machine and maximize profit from their farm produce. Despite experiencing challenges due to the machine repeatedly breaking down as a result of continuous use during the course of the month, members of the community were able to process three tons of corn. Their dedication and hard work to generate income is a testament to their desire to escape poverty and hunger through the application of TCD.

Thank you!
