Godana was in despair when a severe drought struck her village, causing her family to lose all their cattle. Her husband, Guyoo, who had spent his entire life rearing cattle, was left wondering what to do next. One day, Kiya, a Transformational Community Development (TCD) worker, visited their village and invited Godana to participate in one of the TCD sessions. She gladly accepted the invitation and attended the Income Generation session, where she and her friends discussed various options to sustain their lives without cattle. During the discussion, they identified local resources that could bring about positive change in their lives.

After the session, Godana shared the insights with her husband. Although Guyoo remained silent, he was determined to take action. From that day forward, he began crafting traditional grain crushers from available wood. Now, Guyoo produces and sells grain crushers in the market, no longer relying solely on cattle. Meanwhile, Godana is raising goats obtained through a goat loan. She proudly shares her story, smiling as she explains that her children can now drink milk. Their number of goats has grown to five, and she plans to sell two of them to buy a cow, further increasing their income to support their five children.

This inspiring journey demonstrates the resilience and resourcefulness of Godana and Guyoo, who transformed their lives through determination and innovative thinking.
