Knowledge Takes Root
When a village invests in learning, transformation takes root.
In previous years, the community paid little attention to their children’s education, and many students often resumed school without the necessary books and supplies. To address this challenge, the Education Committee and our local Transformational Community Development (TCD) champion organized a support initiative, providing school items for less privileged children. What began last year with assistance for 37 children has now grown, through increased local mobilization, to reach 132 children this year. This timely intervention ensured that more students were prepared to begin the new academic year.
The initiative brought immense joy to the community, as it demonstrated a growing commitment to education as a tool for transformation. However, the need remains significant, and many families still struggle to meet school-related expenses. Moving forward, the committee plans to strengthen community mobilization, both to provide continued material support and to instruct parents on the importance of follow-up in their children’s education, thereby fostering sustainability in this effort.
Thank you!
