When a sudden fire destroyed a young woman’s home, she was left with severe injuries and nothing but ashes. Her future seemed uncertain, but what could have been a story of despair became a testimony to hope because she was part of the Transformational Community Development (TCD) Income Generation Savings Association.

Through the collective savings of village members, the young woman received immediate financial support that covered her hospital treatment and eased her recovery. The association’s foresight meant she was not alone in crisis, and her savings gave her dignity and security when she needed it most.

The community rallied to rebuild her house and replace essentials, while the association went a step further by gifting her a goat to restore her livelihood and stability. Her resilience, strengthened by the savings group members, inspired her friend to join TCD. Her friend shared, “In case something happens to me, I need to be part of this association.”
