Our Transformational Community Development (TCD) member, Samiksha*, raised her family’s income successfully. She had no job at home and no other income sources. She used to depend on her husband for everything. Her husband was a labor worker, which made it very difficult for him to afford the needs of the family. Samiksha was very sad and wept over her miserable family life. Because of the lack of a school uniform and administrative fees, her children could not attend school. She was frightened to ask for a loan for her children’s school expenses because she had no income source, and in that situation, she wouldn’t be able to pay back the loan.

The TCD committees knew about her situation and the problems she was facing, and we discussed possible solutions. We decided to help her generate income through the TCD goat loan. She had learned about goats and poultry in previous TCD classes. However, due to a lack of money, she was unable to start a business. TCD provided her some seed money and, with that, she started raising goats and hens as a means of family income. This built her self-confidence and she became hopeful, managing to arrange funds for her children’s education. Now, her children are able to attend school. She is very happy and thankful to GHNI and its supporters.

Yes, Samiksha’s past life was full of sorrow and bitterness, but now TCD has brought hope and happiness. With TCD’s little help, she feels a great sense of success. With TCD’s follow-up, she continues to improve and achieve her goals. She promised that she would continue TCD and share her success story to encourage others to get involved. The TCD team is working for the community and helping people achieve sustainability. They will continue to support people with TCD.
