Sustainable Income Generation is not only about earning money but also about creating opportunities for growth, dignity, and independence. This month, I would like to share about Neha from Mech Basti, a married woman living with her husband and young son. Before joining the Transformational Community Development (TCD) program, her family was struggling with poverty and unemployment, which made it difficult for them to live a stable and happy life. Our TCD workers visited the village many times and encouraged families about TCD principles, especially Income Generation for self-reliance. Neha listened carefully, accepted the guidance, and began applying these ideas in her life, taking steps toward improving her family’s financial condition and stability.

After learning from the TCD workers, Neha started a small tea garden on her own cultivation land, creating a new source of income for her family. This has given her a hope for income in the days to come. She has also inspired other villagers to believe that small steps can lead to lasting change and self-reliance in the whole community.
