Transformational Community Development (TCD)’s teaching and community programs have promoted self-sustainability among community members. Individuals who previously had no reliable sources of income have begun establishing family-based income-generating activities. Through TCD’s awareness initiatives, community members have learned to prioritize children’s education and now actively support their children’s regular school attendance.

TCD also supports financially vulnerable families by providing training and practical guidance on developing local income-generating activities that require minimal start-up resources. Livelihood options such as goat rearing, beekeeping, and poultry farming have been positively received, and several community members have already begun implementing these initiatives.

A notable example is Menaka* and her husband, who adopted goat farming as their primary household income source. Although they previously kept goats at a subsistence level, TCD’s sustainability training helped them recognize its potential as a viable business. Inspired by the program, they established a small goat farm, improving their financial security and confidence in supporting their children’s education.
