Read MoreIn Kassena Point, the impact of Transformational Community Development (TCD) cannot be overemphasized. This quarter, TCD is prompting the indigenous people to take charge of their community. The Food Committee, in conjunction with indigenous members, is making headway in achieving sustainable developments. After selling the beans that were harvested from their farms, the Food Committee has taken a leap in establishing a community garden. They found a deserted plot where the garden will be situated, and the profit gained from the sale of the beans will be diverted towards purchasing seeds for the new garden.
The gboma seeds (a type of eggplant) are beginning to grow, and the garden activities will start properly in the coming month. We used the remaining proceeds from the bean sale to purchase a couple of rabbits for breeding purposes.
The community lacks a good classroom for their kindergarten children. The Education Committee, together with the chiefs, is beginning to clear a site to build a structure for the students.
