The people of Baromasia Village faced severe difficulties in accessing clean drinking water. Every day, villagers, especially women and children, had to spend around 25 minutes walking up and down to fetch water. Unfortunately, the only available source was unsafe and unclean, forcing families to use contaminated water for drinking, cooking, and daily needs. This situation not only posed serious health risks but also consumed valuable time and energy.

Despite reaching out to the Public Health Department and other concerned officials, the villagers received nothing but empty promises. Motivated by the Transformational Community Development (TCD) coach, the TCD committee decided to drill its own borewell. They formed a Water Committee and collected contributions. Seeing their enthusiasm, GHNI came forward to help install the borewell. This new water source was constructed within the community, ensuring that villagers could access clean and safe water close to their homes.

The project was completed this past quarter and has already started transforming daily life in the village. The installation of the borewell has brought immediate relief to the community since villagers no longer have to spend long hours walking for water, and families now have access to safe drinking water, reducing the risk of waterborne diseases. Women and children save time and energy, which can be used for education, livelihood, and household needs.

The entire community feels a renewed sense of hope, dignity, and improved quality of life. This initiative has proven to be a life-changing step for Baromasia Village, showing that clean water can transform a community.
